Many people don't know what a travel advisor is, or assume it's expensive. Here are honest answers to the questions I'm asked most often.
Frequently asked questions
What does a travel advisor do?
A travel advisor helps you choose the right destination, the right hotel and a logical route, books everything for you and is your point of contact if anything changes along the way. The difference from booking yourself is personal advice, and someone you can call.
What does a travel advisor cost?
At The Journey Office you pay no planning fee. I'm paid a commission by the hotel or partner, not by you. You pay the hotel's rate.
Is it more expensive than booking yourself?
I charge nothing extra. Whether a specific rate is the same as on another site varies by hotel and by moment; I always show you the price and conditions in advance.
What is Fora Travel?
Fora Travel is a travel agency that independent travel advisors are affiliated with. Through Fora I book hotels and travel partners worldwide. The Journey Office is my own brand; I work as an independent advisor, powered by Fora Travel.
Which trips can you help with?
Mainly hotels and journeys in Europe and Southeast Asia, honeymoons and special trips, but also further afield, such as Japan, New York or the Maldives.
How quickly do you reply?
Within two days, by email, phone or video call, whichever you prefer.
