Travel guides › Honeymoons
A honeymoon is often the biggest trip you'll ever take. That's exactly where you don't want to rely on photos and reviews. I help you choose: the destination, the island, the hotel and the room that suit you both, and a route that works.
What I look at
- How you want it to feel. Peace and privacy, or plenty to do? Beach, culture or both?
- The location. A quiet bay or a lively spot, and how long the transfer is after a long flight.
- The season. Not every destination is at its best all year round. The Maldives are driest in winter, Bali in summer.
- Your budget. I work within your budget and tell you honestly where the difference lies.
Popular destinations
Through Fora Travel I book worldwide. These are the destinations couples ask me about most, each with its own guide:
- Italy: the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany or Lake Como. Close to home and at its best in May, June and September.
- Greece: Santorini, Mykonos, Crete or the quieter islands.
- Turkey: Istanbul, a balloon flight over Cappadocia, then the beach in Bodrum.
- The Maldives: one island, one resort, nothing but sea.
- Bali: the jungle in Ubud, then the coast.
- Japan: Tokyo, a ryokan and Kyoto.
- Thailand: a few nights in Bangkok, then the islands.
Something else in mind, such as Portugal, Mauritius, South Africa or a road trip through the United States? I arrange that too. And if it's not a honeymoon but an anniversary? Read on here.
Getting married soon?
Tell me in a few sentences what you have in mind. I'll reply within two days with some first ideas, no strings attached.
Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should you plan a honeymoon?
Ideally six to nine months ahead, especially for popular destinations in high season. The best rooms and villas go first. Less time works too; there's just less choice.
What does it cost to use a travel advisor?
With me, nothing extra: I don't charge a planning fee. I'm paid a commission by the hotel or partner. You pay the hotel's rate.
Can we combine more than one destination?
Yes. A city first and the beach afterwards is often the most beautiful way to build a trip, for example a few nights in Bangkok before the islands, or Istanbul before the Turkish coast. I make sure the route is logical and you don't lose days to travelling.
